FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Those who have been hurt in an accident will face many difficult decisions. The Ferrell Maritime and Mesothelioma Law Group can provide the guidance and answers our clients need when choosing their legal options.
WHAT TYPES OF CASES DOES THE LAW FIRM HANDLE?
Every case is different and unique. Our firm specializes in representing clients in claims involving Mesothelioma, personal injury, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, on the job injuries, toxic torts, product liability, and the Jones Act.
DO YOU CHARGE FEES FOR A CONSULTATION?
Absolutely not. Anyone who thinks they have a case can call our office toll-free at 1-888-503-9748 to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation.
WHAT FEES DO YOU CHARGE?
We work on a case-by-case basis: in most instances, we work on a contingency basis, meaning we will only take our fee as a percentage of your recovered damages if, and only if, we win or settle your case.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
Each of our lawyers has extensive experience in their area of law, and Mr. Ferrell has successfully tried and won cases for his clients for over 20 years.
HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM?
Each type of case is subject to different filing deadlines, also called a statute of limitations. For injuries sustained on the job and for claims against the state or federal government, there is usually less time (months to several months) from the initial day of the accident or incident in which to file.
DO I NEED TO HIRE A LAWYER IF I’VE BEEN INJURED?
By law, you may represent yourself in any legal claim. However, in all the cases we handle, the other party always has legal representation that uses their knowledge to best represent their client, find a loophole, and have the case thrown out never to be retried again. This is why it is important to have an advocate on your side who recognizes the attempts of the other party to avoid paying for their negligent or malicious actions.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO GO TO COURT?
At The Ferrell Maritime and Mesothelioma Law Group, we can negotiate on your behalf and often obtain a satisfactory settlement without ever setting foot in a courtroom. We advise our clients of all options and allow them to make the ultimate decision regarding their cases.
